I really enjoyed reading Koa Whittingham’s parenting book Becoming Mum.  I believe that this book is a wonderful resource for both clients and practitioners alike.  There are many mindfulness scripts recorded in the book to use personally and professionally, that help to provide daily coping strategies and resilience skills.  I love that Koa has written a book for mums based on the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach – ACT seems to just ‘make sense’ and I’ve found it be very effective with my perinatal clients.  Becoming Mum is helpful to understand the different and varied experiences that new mothers face, and is a useful tool in assisting with the ongoing challenges that motherhood presents.
